After the client provided the interior design drawings and modern-style renderings, we developed the detailed shop drawings for this residential model room custom woodwork project. The work included confirmation of the cabinet structure, dimensions, material selection and finish details for the whole-house woodwork and custom cabinet system.
After the drawings were confirmed, we prepared two material samples, including one wood veneer finish sample and one opaque paint finish sample, for the client to review the surface effect, color direction and process details before production. Once the samples were approved, we carried out site measurements and checked the actual dimensions against the confirmed shop drawings. After all details were verified, the project moved into batch production and on-site installation.

The Challenge
The main challenge of this project was the tight schedule and overlapping on-site construction. Cabinet installation had to proceed while interior renovation work was still ongoing, which increased the risk of surface damage to the installed custom cabinets.
To reduce this risk, we used temporary wood board protection around the installed cabinets after installation. Once the overall interior construction was completed, our team returned to the site to inspect the cabinet surfaces and carry out local finish touch-ups where needed. This helped ensure the final custom woodwork delivery met the approved project requirements.

Project Notes
This residential model room project shows that B2B custom woodwork projects require careful control before production and during on-site installation. Confirmed shop drawings, material samples and accurate site measurements helped reduce risks related to cabinet dimensions, finish selection and installation coordination.
For projects using both wood veneer and opaque paint finishes, sample approval before production is important to confirm the surface effect, color direction and process details. When cabinet installation overlaps with interior renovation work, temporary protection, final surface inspection and local finish touch-ups are also necessary to reduce the impact of site construction and ensure the delivered custom cabinets meet the approved project requirements.
