Project Overview

After the client provided the interior design drawings and modern-style renderings, we developed the detailed shop drawings for the whole-house woodwork and custom cabinet system based on the project requirements. This included cabinet structure, dimensional coordination, material application and installation details. Since we had already completed another model room project with the same client in a different style, communication and project coordination were more efficient. After the drawings were confirmed, we carried out site measurements and checked the actual dimensions against the shop drawings. Once all details were confirmed, the project moved into batch production and on-site installation.

The Challenge

Due to the tight project schedule, cabinet installation had to overlap with the interior renovation work on site. To reduce the impact of later construction on the installed cabinets, we used temporary wood board protection after the cabinet installation was completed. After the overall interior construction was finished, our team returned to the site to inspect the custom cabinet surfaces and carry out local finish touch-ups where needed. This helped ensure the final delivery met the project requirements.

Project Notes

This residential model room project shows that clear shop drawings, site measurement and project coordination are important for B2B custom woodwork projects. When a client has multiple model rooms with different styles, an established cooperation process can help improve communication efficiency, drawing confirmation and production planning. The project also highlights the need to manage installation risks during overlapping construction. When cabinet installation and interior renovation happen at the same time, temporary site protection helps reduce possible surface damage, but final inspection and local finish touch-ups are still necessary before delivery. For similar residential custom cabinet projects, key control points include confirmed shop drawings, accurate site measurements, clear installation coordination and follow-up surface inspection.
