After the client provided the interior design drawings, the project requirements focused on high-performance materials for the bank office area. For this commercial office project, the key consideration was not only the visual appearance, but also material durability, surface resistance, stability and long-term use.
Based on the client’s drawings and material requirements, we first reviewed the site dimensions of the office area and then developed detailed shop drawings for the custom woodwork and office cabinetry. Formica HPL laminate was selected as the main surface finish to meet the project’s performance requirements. After the drawings were confirmed, the project moved into batch production and on-site installation.

The Challenge
The main challenge of this project came from the use of high-performance surface materials and special feature wall finishing. The client required a durable surface material for the bank office area, so Formica HPL laminate was selected as the main finish.
To keep the edge details consistent with the main surface, all edge banding also used HPL laminate. This required cutting the approximately 1mm-thick laminate sheets into narrow edge banding strips before further processing.
For the TV feature wall, the client required a burned-effect wood texture and a layered visual effect. To achieve this, we first prepared the wood base structure, then produced each small decorative wood block separately and assembled them piece by piece. This process helped meet the project requirements for material performance, visual effect and detailed surface treatment in a commercial office space.

Project Notes
This commercial office custom woodwork project shows that material performance and detailed processing should be considered together from the early stage. For B2B clients such as corporate offices, contractors and interior design companies, choosing a durable surface material is only one part of the project. Edge details, surface consistency and special feature wall requirements also need to be evaluated before production.
In this project, Formica HPL laminate was selected to meet the bank office area’s requirements for durability, surface resistance and long-term use. Since the edge banding also needed to match the main HPL surface, additional processing was required to cut the laminate sheets into narrow strips for consistent edge finishing.
The TV feature wall also required a burned-effect wood texture and layered surface treatment. This case shows that for commercial office custom woodwork projects, key control points include material selection, shop drawing development, HPL edge processing, special surface treatment and production planning before on-site installation.
