After the client provided the commercial space drawings and concept reference images, we had several rounds of communication to confirm the final design direction as a vintage solid wood style. Based on the confirmed space concept, display requirements and functional layout, we first reviewed the site dimensions and then developed detailed shop drawings for the custom woodwork, display cabinets and retail furniture.
Before production, we prepared a cherry wood veneer sample for the client to confirm the wood grain, color direction and surface effect. After the sample and shop drawings were approved, the project moved into batch production and on-site installation.

The Challenge
The main challenge of this commercial custom woodwork project was balancing budget control with the required visual effect. At the early stage, the client considered using melamine finish to control project cost. However, for a vintage solid wood style commercial space, the visible finish needed stronger wood grain texture and visual depth.
To help the client make a more accurate material decision before batch production, we prepared one melamine finish sample panel and one cherry wood veneer sample panel, then placed them in the same commercial space for direct comparison. After reviewing the physical samples on site, the client decided to use cherry wood veneer for the visible finish layer to better match the overall space concept and display requirements.
