Aluminum Honeycomb Panel

Aluminum honeycomb panel is a composite panel commonly used in high-end or special custom cabinetry and interior woodwork projects. It is usually made with an aluminum honeycomb core bonded between two surface panels. Compared with standard wood-based boards, aluminum honeycomb panels usually offer better lightweight performance, bending resistance, surface flatness and structural stability. It is suitable as a base material for large cabinet doors, oversized doors, wall panels, cabinet face panels, hidden doors, hotel room doors and some special fixed furniture components. Its actual performance depends on honeycomb core structure, surface panel material, bonding process, panel thickness, surface finish, edge treatment, hardware reinforcement method and installation environment.

Materials Detail

Common Thickness

10mm, 15mm, 18mm, 25mm, 30mm, 40mm, 50mm

Suitable Finishes

Wood veneer panel, aluminum panel, stainless steel panel, paint finish / coated finish, thin stone panel, HPL laminate, wood-based surface panel and other special composite surface materials.

Suitable Applications

Large cabinet doors, oversized cabinet doors, hidden doors, hotel room doors, wall panels, high-end custom door panels, large decorative panels, wall-cabinet integrated systems and custom projects that require lightweight performance, surface flatness and structural stability.

Not Suitable For

Low-budget projects, standard small cabinet doors, positions that require extensive on-site cutting, parts that require frequent secondary processing, areas without reserved hardware reinforcement, or projects where site dimensions and installation details are not yet confirmed.

Advantages

Lightweight, good surface flatness, stable structure and strong deformation resistance. Suitable for large cabinet doors, oversized doors and custom woodwork projects that require reduced weight and better structural stability.

Limitations

Higher cost, higher requirements for processing and edge finishing, and special hardware connection design is usually required. On-site secondary cutting and temporary hole modification are less flexible than plywood or MDF.

Key Notes

Aluminum honeycomb panel has a hollow honeycomb core, so ordinary screws cannot be fixed directly in the same way as solid wood or plywood. Hardware positions usually need pre-embedded reinforcement, wood strips, aluminum profiles, connection blocks, embedded nuts or local solid filling. Key quality checks include honeycomb core density, bonding strength, surface flatness, edge finishing, hollow spots or delamination, and whether hinge, handle, pivot hinge and door stopper positions have been structurally reinforced in advance.
