Hinge System / Cabinet Hinge System

Hinge system is an important hardware system used in custom cabinetry and interior door products to connect door panels with the cabinet body, control door opening and adjust door gaps. Compared with standard connecting hardware, hinge systems directly affect door opening angle, closing feel, load-bearing capacity and long-term stability. In custom cabinetry projects, hinges should be selected according to door thickness, door weight, opening angle, full overlay / half overlay / inset installation type and whether soft-close function is required. The actual performance depends on material strength, anti-rust surface treatment, door panel size, drilling accuracy and adjustment range. For large doors, heavy doors, kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities or high-frequency cabinet doors, hinge quantity, load capacity, anti-rust performance and later door gap adjustment space should be carefully considered.

Materials Detail

Common Types

Standard hinge, soft-close hinge, wide-angle hinge, thick-door hinge, glass door hinge, concealed hinge, pivot hinge

Common Materials

Cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, zinc alloy

Material and Selection Advice

Quality cold-rolled steel hinges can be used for standard cabinet doors. For kitchens, bathrooms and humid areas, anti-rust performance should be prioritized. Selection should consider door thickness, door weight, opening angle, full overlay / half overlay / inset installation type and whether soft-close function is required.

Suitable Applications

Kitchen cabinet doors, wardrobe doors, bathroom vanity doors, display cabinet doors, glass cabinet doors, hidden doors and custom cabinet door projects with frequent opening.

Key Notes

Large or heavy doors require more hinges or heavy-duty hinges. During installation, drilling accuracy should be controlled and enough door gap adjustment space should be reserved to avoid later sagging, uneven closing or unsmooth opening.
